No more Mercedes CLK after 2010

Mercedes-Benz will discontinue the CLK after 2010 and replace it with a coupe and convertible based on the new E-class.

The coupe will debut when the E-class sedan is launched in mid-2009, says Ernst Lieb, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA. The convertible will follow about a year later.

The CLK is based on the previous-generation C class.

Market segments for the CLK and E-class coupe are similarly sized, but Mercedes-Benz wanted a two-door that could better compete with the larger coupes that are being launched by competitors.

Audi's A5, which went on sale last year, is selling well. And Porsche will launch the Panamera, a sporty four-door with a coupe roofline, next year.

The E-class coupe likely will cost more than the CLK, but Lieb wouldn't give specifics. The existing CLK starts at about €40,000 in its German home market .

The nose of the E-class coupe will be similar to that of the Fascination concept that was so well-received when shown last month at the Paris auto show.

Although the concept was a station wagon, Mercedes executives said the front end is a preview of what to expect on the new E-class

BMW or Mercedes?

Most of people who have extra money now are going for luxury cars. Normally they would go for Mercedes or BMW. Well if you have huge extra money, you can even go for Bentley, my favourite car. back to mercedes or BMW, which is most suitable? Emm...technologically, I think it’d be very difficult to pick a winner. To be honest, I don’t think either is better. They’re different. When we look at a person driving a bmw, hes or she is much younger than people driving mercedes now. This will briefly tell us a story, in which BMW belongs to younger and executive level , while Mercedes belongs to Business owner, older.

In term of driving, they are both very nice cars and absolutelya dream to drive. These are both the high end models with lots of HP. What it boils down to is preference and style. The BMWs are more of a driver’s car, i.e. you feel every turn and you are driving tjhe car like you are riding a race horse yet to be tamed. The Mercedes is a nice cruising car that does nopt need much effort to drive but still extremely nice. The BMW allows you to get your adrenalin flowing whereas the Merc relaxes you for a nice drive but still a fast one at that.

For me, BMW beats Mercedes hands down. Looks wise- Mercedes is super flashy , overdone , it reminds me of an old persons car, same with cadillac.- older people would drive those. I do like Mercedes but as far as youth, looks , performance, quality i’d take a BMW. You have to love the new design they have going now- and the BMW emblems pop out, its like nothing ive seen before. And its not a question of money because if i can afford a mercedes yet i chose a BMW. Some mercedes are the same price as bmw or less. The most important thing is James Bond drives BMW.

Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center Hotel Reviews

There are some comment we gathered from the various website. Not sure there are true or not about this hotel. Better you feel it yourself and explode it..

"I will probably not stay in this hotel again. This was my second time in the so called hotel. The only advantage in its favor is the commercial center. The room is spacious but old material makes it difficult on guests. Old and dirty kettle, malfunctioning refrigirator, old TV and each time they clean the room, we have to call room keeping for missing set of towels and floor mats, this is really inconvenient when you enter your room to rest from an exhausting day. Very bad treatment regarding the note that warns the guest of his fast departure to check out at 11:00 in the morning whatever the reasons(worlwide hotels check out time is fixed at 12:00 noon and some are at 15:00 afternoon), the guest feels that he is not welcome anymore. I will not stay in this hotel."

"I was so disappointed with this hotel. It was recommended to me by a friend who stayed there for work, so I'm guessing that the suites were much nicer than the hotel! My room size was quite large however I didn't spend too much time in there because there leaking air condition dripping onto the tiled bathroom floor drove me insane! The hotel is in serious need of renovation! It wasn't very clean either (my room nor the hotel)! The kitchen was a useless feature of the room as there were no utensils in there! There were also 3 channels that worked on the TV. What hotel these days does not have pay TV?? To top it off, I came home one evening to find a carpenter had let himself into my room to fix a door! Surely this could have waited until I checked out the following morning. To a female staying alone, this was a nasty surprise! Also I had many items of value lying around because the safe did not work! It took the bell boy 1 hour to bring my bags up to the room! This was also poor! I don't recommend this hotel to anyone! Beware!"

"The location was great. Bed was extremely hard and pillows were shocking. Very buisy hotel so they couldnt really keep up at breakfast. Staff where nice. Bathroom flooded and toilet clogged up - due to big big clumps of hair in drain system - very yucky. Not really worth what you pay. They say that its 5 star but I would doubt it in all honesty. But was a fantastic location."

"Our room was enormous! There's a hallway, mini kitchen area, a couch-and-TV area, a toilet, a bathroom and a bedroom. Great view too! As the hotel is just above Times Square, we even popped down to the cinema for a midnite show! Only thing i find troublesome is that the elevator service is confusing for old folks.."
MS. TOH, PEI SZE, Singapore in March 2008

Our stay at Berjaya Times square was pleasant and comfortable. The room was spacious and included a living room, kitchenette, bedroom and a huge bathroom. Its a huge hotel with two towers that are inter-connected by the Berjaya Times Square Mall. The Swimming pool is located on the 14th floor and is one of the biggest I have seen till now. The buffet breakfast is amazing with a varied spread which included Malaysian, English and Indian Cuisine. However, the breakfast hall is usually crowded at peak hours so it is advisable to go a little earlier. The Hotel is located near all kinds of malls and shopping centres, and one can choose to go to either a budget mall or an upmarket one depending on one's preferences. The sky train station is directly opposite to the hotel which takes one directly to China Town and Central Market which would be a 5 minutes ride from there. Overall I LOVED the hotel and the location of the hotel. The entire package made the trip to KL a memorable one!

turbocharged for new BMW Ms models

After two decades of normally-aspirated high-revving engines shoehorned under the hoods of its M cars, BMW is changing direction and will begin to offer direct-injection turbocharged powerplants in its future high-performance flagships. The German automaker is blaming tough environmental emission standards and the soaring manufacturing costs of the specialty-built V8 and V10 engines found in today's M3, M5, and M6 models for its decision. We also suspect the fact that both Audi and Mercedes-Benz have successfully offered torque-laden forced-induction powerplants for years on their performance models may have something to do with it (also keep in mind that an aftermarket-tuned version of BMW's own twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-6 can easily match the power output of the M3's normally-aspirated 4.0-liter V8). The first new M model to carry the turbocharged honor will be the X6 xDrive M, with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 reportedly making 500 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That same engine is reportedly going into the next F10-chassis M5 due in late 2010.

future BMW model

The CEO of BMW M GmbH, Ludwig Willisch, spilled his guts to Auto-Motor-und-Sport in a recent interview about the future of BMW's high-performance M division. The news was good, bad, and downright dumbfounding. For the good, Willish mentioned that future M-models will include high-revving turbocharged engines, and offer ceramic brakes. The bad news is that there will be no E91 M3 Touring, E92 M3 CSL, or M1 Concept. Apparently, BMW doesn't feel there is enough of a market to support those vehicles. The perplexing news is that BMW is currently working on M-versions of the X5 and X6 (apparently to answer a question that enthusiasts have yet to ask). While we cannot control the electrochemical signals being sent between neurons within BMW's think tank, we can continue to hope that BMW doesn't dilute the M-brand the way Mercedes-Benz has with AMG.
